Water Treatment

The Volcano™ is a multigrade, down-flow sand filter for removing suspended solid contaminants in water and wastewater treatment applications. Its unique, patented design allows it to operate continuously, without the need to shut down for back wash as competitive designs require.

Suspended particles are removed from the influent and the resulting filtrate flows to slotted screens located within the finest grade of media.

Media and captured solids migrate to the bottom and are transported to the top of the filter via an air lift. The air lift continuously transports the sand and captured contaminants to the wash box where contaminants are separated from the sand and removed in the reject stream. The cleaned sand falls back to the sand bed and classifies into coarse, intermediate, and fine layers. The filtration, separation, and reconditioning are then repeated.

The PHOENIX Reverse Osmosis Filtration System removes dissolved solids, bacteria, metals, and salts from water and wastewater streams for water purification treatment and reuse.
